Gird your loins: V-Day is coming!

Valentine’s Day is coming up faster than you’d like to believe. Although I have a general distaste for Hallmark holidays, I’m gonna tell it to you straight: if you’re in any kind of relationship, you need to know what the explicit expectations are for this holiday of lurve.

I have known deep, deep disappointment on Valentine’s Day … probably because I’ve dated some seriously disappointing boys. Check out the whole sordid tale at Aiming Low.

Also? Never tell a lady that you’ve never seen any girl eat as much as she just did.

    you get what you get.
My guy does not do flowers, sappy cards, chocolate or dinner with candles.
But he does me, for good or bad, for better or worse. He is a steady boat in my waves of craziness. That is better than flowers long gone or chocolate placed on hips.

I get flowers and chocolate at random times during the year because my husband was thinking of me. That makes V-Day extremely unimportant. Really, I hate V-Day because it makes people who are currently not in a relationship feel like there is something wrong.

Good, sound advice. We don't celebrate here, but last year D surprised me with a box of good chocolate and the Skyfall DVD. All time best in my book.
