Shows I’ve watched in quarantine.

Hi. My name is Becky. I’m social distancing. And I haven’t worn an underwire in a week.

Since our girl ‘Rona is keeping us all inside and moderately terrified, I’m just gonna start writing about randomly entertaining stuff.

Here’s what I’ve watched so far.

Love is Blind – Everything you’ve heard about this show is true. It is banana sandwich INSANE. And also addictive. And will make you reflect on your own romantic relationships. And congratulate yourself for not being an idiot.

Gangs of New York – Because culture. Also? I loved the Tenement Museum in New York and they talked about it. When all this COVID-19 stuff is over, you should go to NYC and visit this museum. Loooooved it. And they have great programs online … so, like, if you’re pretending to teach your kids right now … you’re welcome.

A Fish Called Wanda – Because Kevin Kline is a genius. He won an Oscar for this movie and that’s obviously because of me. There are several of his lines that I have remembered since I last saw this movie circa 1987. Guess what they are and you win a prize.

Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle – Because culture. I’d never seen this because pot humor is one-note to me. But this movie had everything! Adventure! Neil Patrick Harris! White Castle!

It’s only been a week and we are desperate for recommendations. What’s getting you through these weird times?

Mad Men. Go figure. Also, Seth and Barbara have been watching Love is Blind and are full-on addicted. I might have to give it a whirl. Stay safe and sane, friend.

Great to hear from you, Becky. BTW your name popped up in one of my posts http://www.nosmallfeetblog.com/2020/03/fellow-bloggers-where-were-you-81096-i.html?m=1
I think you will be very amused by this true six degrees of separation tale.

Anyway- it is killing me that I cannot think of any lines from A Fish Called Wanda because my high school friends and I used to recite them daily. Now I feel old. I know there were great moments with the stuttering. Will have to re-watch.

We watched True Grit the other day- so good. We also watched Raising Arizona and we did not enjoy it. We enjoyed Richard Jewel and we have a library copy of Sideways that we get to keep for weeks because the library is closed. Hard to find time to watch because the kids are staying up crazy late these days and it is wildly inappropriate. I have suggested On Golden Pond but no one is jumping at that one. I always love Little Miss Sunshine. I have never seen Moonstruck and I think that one is appropriate so might suggest that one tomorrow night.

I think my teens have watched entire seasons of The Office.

In other not so fun quarantine adventures, Coach and I drove to New Rochelle, NY to pack up Lad’s college apartment. From Chicago on Friday and returned on Saturday. Do not recommend.

I hope to get a few more closets reorganized. I hid girl scout cookies in my closet a few weeks ago and CANNOT find them so I hope to uncover them. This AFTER laughing at Coach who hid several boxes and struggled to remember where he stowed them.

    Good luck!

We watched Love is Blind too and had the same review as you.

I just finished Grace and Frankie and already miss them so much that I’m going to start over this week.

I started Schitt’s Creek again and I like it. Not love yet. But I’m only at the beginning of season 2.

Better Things on Hulu is another good one.

    Here’s to endless television viewing.

I haven’t watched that much TV, but that’s going to change. We did watch “Troop Zero” on Prime – highly recommend it!

D brought home the new Jumanji for the family last night. Meh. But it was nice sitting together with popcorn.
    The Crown on Netflix.
B has begun watching westerns, so we’ve watched True Grit (first one), The Outlaw Josey Wales. The dialogue in these old movies is so witty.
I plan to dig into season two of Wings. I loved that show.
